HAM - BAKED VIRGINIA

Ingredients

  • shoulder of ham
  • maraschino cherries
  • handfull of whole cloves
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 4 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 cans pineapple rings
  • 1 stick of cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves

Preparation

Step 1

Boil ham, ocver with water include cinnamon stick and whole cloves - 2 to 3 hours., until ham is tender. Drain the meat - cut off excess fat, then decorate the ham with pineapple rings, cherries and whole cloves.

SAUCE: combine vinegar, sugars, mustard, ground cloves and cinnamon into the pineapple juice. Pour mixture over the decorated ham.

Keeep basting the ham as it browns in the oven - 1 hour approximately.
