Sauce - Red Chile Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 Clove of Garlic
  • 3 Tbsp Olive or Canola oil
  • 2 Tbsp Flour
  • 1/2 Cup good-quality Red Chile Powder
  • 2 Cups Water
  • Salt to taste
  • Cumin & Oregano to taste (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

In a medium skillet, Sauté the garlic until softened, Add the flour and cook, stirring until the flour turns light brown. Add the Red Chile powder and cook for about 1 minute to release the flavor, taking care not to burn the powder, Add the water and the remaining spices. Stir and bring to boil to achieve a sauce of medium consistency. This sauce can be chilled and stored for a few weeks for used in any number of dishes
