Mini Apple Pies

  • 8 Tbsp. butter
  • 6-7 cups thinly sliced apples
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp. salt



Step 1

Line 6-8 8-oz. wide mouth canning jars---or custard dishes--with pie crust.
Melt butter in a saucepan. Stir in flour and cook, whisking continuously until golden brown, about 2 min. Add sugars, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt and bring to a simmer. Pour over apples and toss to coat. You may also add 1/2 cup dried cranberries if desired.

Fill jars or custard dishes with apple mixture. Top with lattice pie crust and sprinkle with turbinado sugar. Place on a cookie sheet and bake at 350* for 45-55 min. or until golden.
