Cherry-Apple Crisp

If you like a lot of topping, make half again as much as the recipe calls for.

Ingredients

  • 12 cups sliced peeled apples, preferably McIntosh
  • 2 cups pitted cherries
  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 cups old-fashioned oatmeal
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 2/3 cup flour

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375 F.

Spread apples and cherries in a greased 9-by-13-inch pan.

Melt butter; add brown sugar, oatmeal, cinnamon, nutmeg and flour. Sprinkle over apples and cherries.

Bake 30 minutes, or until topping is nicely browned.
