Slow Cooker Lasagna

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. italian sausage casings removed
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 med. onion, finely chopped
  • 2 med. carrots finely chopped
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • coarse salt and pepper
  • 1 6oz. can tomato paste
  • 1 28oz. cann crushed tomato puree
  • 9 Lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups mozzerella cheese.

Preparation

Step 1

In a large heavy pot brown meat. Add carrots, onion, garlic, salt and pepper cook until softened 3-5 mins. Stir in tomato paste, then tomato puree. Bring to a boil and remove from heat. Spoon 2 c. of meat mixture into the bottom of slow cooker. Layer 3 noondles breaking them so they fit, 2 more cups of meat and 1/2c. cheese. Repeat 2 more layers. Cover and cook on low 4-6 hours. Sprinkle lasagna with 1/2 cup of cheese and cover until cheese has melted. Serve.
