Ingredients
- 4 chicken breasts (boneless skinless)
- salt and pepper
- 1 C. honey
- 1/2 C. soy sauce (or a little less)
- 1/2 C. diced onion
- 1/4 C. ketcheup
- 2 T. canola oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes (opt. adds flavor, but no heat)
- 4 tsp. cornstarch dissolved in 6 T. water
- sesame seeds
Preparation
Step 1
Season both sides of chicken with salt and pepper; put in crock pot.
In small bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, onion, ketchup, oil, garlic and pepper flakes; pour over chicken. Cook on low for 3-4 hours or high 1 1/2-2 hours, or just until chicken is cooked through. Remove chicken, leave sauce in crock pot.
Dissolve cornstarch in water and stir into sauce. Shred/pull chicken and return to pot and toss with sauce before serving. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve over rice or noodles.
