Double-Cheese Stuffed Burgers

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. ground beef (85%)
  • 1 5.2oz. pkg. garlic and herb spreadable cheese
  • 1 c. shredded sharp white cheddar
  • 2 T. chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 large sweet onion sliced 1/4" thick
  • 2 T. olive oil
  • 6 kaiser rolls, split
  • Mayo
  • 8 green lettuce leaves

Preparation

Step 1

Heat grill. From beef into 12 1/2" thick patties. Combine cheeses, parsley, and salt in medium bowl. Divide mixture into 6 portions and top 6 of the patties, spreading to within 3/4" of edges. Cover with 6 remaining patties and pinch edges well to seal. Brush onion slices with oil. Grill burgers and onions, covered, over medium heat 10-12 minutes and until onions are tender and beginning to char, turning once. Grill rolls, covered 1-2 mins. spread with mayo and top with lettuce and onion slice.
