Green Beans with tomatoes

Ingredients

  • 3 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 1/4 pounds trimmed green beans - frozen green beans work fine too
  • 1 15 oz can stewed tomatoes pureed
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • pinch of cinnamon
  • pinch of allspice

Preparation

Step 1

Cook onions in olive oil about 5 minutes.
Add green beans, stewed tomatoes, water, salt and pepper, cinnamon and allspice. Partially cover and simmer, 35 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
