Casablanca Burger

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef - 85% lean
  • 1/3 cup finely snipped dried apricots
  • 2 tablespoon pine nuts, toasted
  • 2 tablespoon chopped cilantro - fresh
  • 2 gloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 4 Kaiser rolls
  • 1 recipe Moroccan ketchup
  • 4 leaves red leaf lettuce
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced

Preparation

Step 1

1. In a large bowl combine all the ingredients up to the rolls. Shape mixture into 4 3/4 inch thick patties

2. Gas grill - pre-heat grill, reduce heat to medium and place patties on the rack directly over heat. Cover and cook for 14-18 minutes turning once (160 internal temp

3. Place on rolls, topped with ketchup, lettuce and tomato slices

Ketchup recipe: combine ketchup, 1/8 tsp ground cumin, 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon, 1/8 tsp ground coriander and 1/8 tsp ground black pepper.
