Cherry Winks

Ingredients

• 2 1/4 cups flour
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 3/4 cup crisco
• 1 cup sugar
• 2 eggs
• 2 tablespoons milk
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1/3 cup maraschino cherries plus some for garnish
• 1 cup nuts
• 1 cup chopped dates
• crushed corn flakes

Preparation

Step 1

Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt, set aside
cream crisco and sugar, add eggs, milk and vanilla
blend in dry ingredients mixing well
add dates, nuts and maraschino cherries.
Roll in balls and then roll in crushed corn flakes.
Place on greased cookie sheet and top with 1/4 cherry
bake 10 to 12 minutes in 375 degree oven
