Ingredients
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 6 Tbsps butter
- 2 tsp flour
- 1 tsp hot water
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 3 eggs, separated
- pinch salt
- 2 Tbsps sugar
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. In a double boiler, melt chocolate chips with butter over 1” simmering water. Mix in flour. Add water and vanilla and mix. Remove from heat and stir in egg yolks one at a time; cool. In a medium bowl beat egg whites and salt with electric mixer using clean, dry beaters on medium speed until foamy. Gradually add sugar and beat with mixer on high speed until stiff peaks form. Fold into chocolate mixture. Spread into buttered 8” spring form pan. Bake for 15 minutes. The cake will be soft in the center. Cool. Frost with whipped cream.
