Ingredients
- 4 cups of flour
- 1/4 cup of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder
- 2 Tablespoons of caraway seeds
- 1 cup of raisins
- 1/2 stick of butter
- 1 1/2 cups of buttermilk
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon baking soda

Step 1
In a large bowl mix flour, sugar, salt, baking powder & buttermilk together. Stir in caraways.
Cut in butter making a coarse meal.
Stir in raisins.
In small bowl, add baking soda, stir in egg & water.
After dry ingredients are mixed together, add wet mixture slowly until a dough is formed. Knead until you can form a loaf.
Turn it out onto floured board,
Knead a little more until a workable dough is formed.
Place this on a baking sheet covered in parchment paper.
Bake at 350 degrees for about an hour or until knife comes out clean.
