Peppermint Bark

Chocolate Peppermint Bark is one of the simplest home-made candies to make and it can leave a stunning impression on your friends.

This recipe can be used with any combination of chocolate, almond bark, and flavors. You can make Chocolate Orange Bark, Almond Nut Bark and any combo you can think of. Peppermint Chocolate Bark is one of those perfect and inexpensive gifts you can give as well. After all, who’s going to turn down chocolate?!?!

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg Chocolate Flavored Almond Bark, or candy coating
  • 1 pkg White Chocolate Flavored Almond Bark, or candy coating
  • 2 Tsp peppermint extract
  • 1/2 Cup candy canes (crushed coarsely)

Preparation

Step 1

Place candy canes in a large resealable bag and coarsely crush using a meat tenderizer (the flat side) or something similar if you don’t have one.
Line a large sheet pan with parchment paper, make sure the paper hangs over the edge to make it easier to remove the bark.
Place Chocolate bark in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high 1-1 1/2 minutes or until bark is almost melted.
Repeat with White Chocolate bark.
Add peppermint extract to melted Chocolate, mix well.
Drop alternating scoops of chocolate and white chocolate bark onto the pan using a spoon or a measured scoop. Make rows and keep 1/2 in. between each row.
Cut through the bark for marble effect.
Gently tap pan flat against counter top to level bark.
Sprinkle with crushed candy canes.
Refrigerate at least 15 minutes, or until bark is set.
Lift parchment and bark from pan and break into pieces
