  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 1/3 cup plain (all-purpose) flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups peeled, sliced fresh peaches, or
  • (1) 1-lb 4 oz can peaches, drained.

Step 1

DIRECTIONS:
Melt butter in heavy 10-inch skillet.
Sprinkle brown sugar over butter.
Arrange sliced peaches over sugar
mixture in skillet.
Stir flour, sugar, baking powder and salt
together. Add softened butter or
margarine, milk and vanilla. Beat about
2 minutes on medium speed on mixer.
Add egg and beat 2 minutes longer.
Gently pour batter over the peaches and
bake in 350 oven 40 to 45 minutes.
Immediately turn upside down on
serving plate. Allow pan to drain over
cake for a few minutes. Serve.
