BREAD PUDDING PIRATE HOUSE SAVANNAH

Ingredients

  • 5 loaves of bread cut into chunks
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1-1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1-1/3 cup milk
  • 2-2/3 cups half and half
  • 3 eggs
  • 2/3 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preparation

Step 1

Combine brown sugar, 2/3 cup sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Set aside. This is your sugar mixture.

Combine eggs, 1/3 cup sugar and vanilla stir until well mixed. Add milk and half and half.

Melt butter in saucepan.

Place 1/2 of bread chunks in 9 x 12 pan. Top bread chunks with 1/2 of the following: chocolate chips, pecans and sugar mix. Top with remaining bread chunks and add remaining chocolate chips, pecans and sugar mix.

Top with egg and milk mixture.

Top with melted butter. Cook at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
