Fluffy Amaretto Frosting

The frosting of choice for almond cupcakes, yum!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 1/2 Tb light corn syrup
  • 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 egg whites
  • 2 1/2 tsp amaretto

Preparation

Step 1

In a saucepan cook water, sugar, corn syrup, cream of tartar & salt until sugar dissolves& forms a syrup over max. Heat.
In a bowl whip egg whites & liquere until whites begin to hold shape. Continue beating and add syrup slowly in fine stream. Whip 5-7 min.until glossy & holds stiff peaks. Frost cake or cupcakes immediately.
