Ingredients

  • 6 C water, boiling
  • 1 1/2 C grits
  • 3/4 C butter (stick and a half)
  • 1 lb cheddar cheese, grated
  • 2 tsp salt (opt)
  • 3 eggs, beaten

Preparation

Step 1

Boil water in a large saucepan. Add grits and cook for 10 minutes, uncovered.
Remove from heat and add remaining ingredients.
Pour into a buttered 13 x 9 baking dish. Bake for 1-½ hours at 350*.
