Ingredients

  • 1-2 lbs. beef round steak, partially frozen, trimmed, cut into 3x1
  • strips, browned in skillet, drained
  • 2 tab. oil
  • 1/4 cup light soy sauce
  • 1 cup vadalia onion, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 teas. sugar
  • 1/4 teas. each salt, pepper, ground ginger
  • 4 tomatoes, cut into 8's/or 1 can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 2 lrg. green peppers, seeded and cut into strips
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1 tab. cornstarch
  • hot cooked noodles or brown rice

Preparation

Step 1

CUT: beef into 3x1 inch strips, brown and drain.
TRANSFER: beef to a slow cooker
COMBINE: next seven (7) ingredients. pour over beef
COVER AND COOK: L-5/6 hrs/ or til tender.

ADD: tomatoes and green peppers.
COOK: for 1 hour on low

COMBINE: cold water & cornstarch to make paste
STIR: into liquid in slow cooker. Cook on H til thickened.

SERVE: over hot noodles or rice
