Ingredients
- Cake:
- 1 1/2 cup quick cooking oatmeal
- 2 1/4 cup boiling water
- 3/4 cup softened butter
- 1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 2 1/4 cup flour
- Frosting:
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 Tablespoon milk
- 1 1/2 Tablespoon karo sryup
- 1 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Mix oatmeal and boiling water. Set aside and let stand while mixing other ingredients.
Cream together the butter, and both sugars. Add cinnamon, baking soda, salt, and eggs. Mix completely. Add in softened oatmeal and flour mixing for approximately 4 minutes. Pour into a greased 13 x 9 pan. Bake for 35-40 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.
While cake is baking, mix first four frosting ingredients in a saucepan, and bring to a boil for one minute. Remove from heat and add nuts. Spread on cake after removed from oven, and let cool before cutting.
