Ingredients
- 1 stick butter
- 1/2 cup crisco
- 1 cup confectioners sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 teasp. almond extract
- 1 teasp. vanilla
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 teasp. salt
- 1/2 teasp. red food coloring
- 1 cup crushed candy canes
- 1 cup sugar
Preparation
Step 1
Mix shortening, sugar, egg and extracts and flavoring. Stir flour into shortening mixture. Divide dough in half. Add coloring to half of dough.
Form candy canes using a little of each.
Bake for 9 mins. at 375 degrees until lightly brown. Mix crushed candy canes with sugar and dip cookies while still warm.
