Ingredients
- Chocolate
- 1 lb powdered sugar (3 1/2 C unsifted)
- 1 stick margarine (butter makes it too soft)
- 1/2 C cocoa
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 T instant coffee powder or expresso powder, if desired - to taste
- 1/3 C milk (approx - add slowly until spreading consistency)

- White
- 2 lb powdered sugar
- 1 1/3 C Crisco solid
- 1/2 C Carnation dry milk
- 1 tsp salt dissolved in 1/4 C water (undissoved salt leaves craters in colored icing)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 tsp almond
- Food coloring or decorator's paste coloring as desired
- addtional water - add slowly until spreading consistency reached
Preparation
Step 1
Mix all ingredients and beat 5 min. until creamy
Stores in refrigerator tightly sealed for several weeks; warm to room temperature and stir before using
