Tilapia Stuffed with crab

Ingredients

  • 4 tilapia filets, rinsed
  • 1 can crab meat, rinsed
  • 1 small onion chopped well
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped well
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon bread crumbs
  • Paprika
  • 1 teap lemon juice
  • 1-2 tablespoons alfredo sauce
  • preheat oven to 400 degrees

Step 1

Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet, add the onion and celery and sauté till soft. Then add the parsley and immediately remove from the heat.

Stir in bread crumbs, lemon juice, cayenne pepper, crab meat and mix well. Add in the Alfredo sauce until the desired consistency. It should be thick but moist. Add salt and pepper to taste. You can add more bread crumbs, butter etc to get the right consistency.


Place tilapia on a greased glass or ceramic baking pan and spoon the crab mix over it. Then drizzle melted butter on top, then sprinkle paprika on top of the butter.


Cover with foil and bake 20-25 min until tilapia flakes easily. You can drizzle any cream sauce over it when you serve it if you want (Alfredo or Bearnaise as examples) or make a caper butter cream sauce. I used Alfredo as it was easiest and I had it handy.
