Ingredients
- 6 C flour
- 1 T salt
- 2 C shortening
- 1/2 C butter (1 stick)
- 2 T vegetable oil
- 1 C buttermilk
Preparation
Step 1
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour & salt. Cut in the shortening & butter until the mixture resembles small peas. Add the oil & buttermilk & mix with a spoon until all of the flour is moistened & the dough clears the side of the bowl. Divide the dough into six equal parts & shape into balls. Roll out for pie crusts or wrap in plastic wrap, flatten into thick discs & freeze. thaw before using.
