Turkey Brie Turnovers (DDD)

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Stick of Butter
  • 3 Shallots
  • Handful of Fresh Thyme
  • 1/4 Cup White Wine
  • 1/4 Cup Chicken Stock
  • 1/4 Cup Heavy Cream
  • 1 Pound of Roasted Turkey
  • Salt and Pepper
  • 8 Slices of Brie Cheese
  • 1 Package of Puff Pastry – 2 sheets
  • 1 Egg – for the pastry egg wash
  • 1 Large Orange – zested and juiced
  • Powdered Sugar – just keep adding until the consistency was thick enough

Preparation

Step 1

Melt butter in saucepan. Add sliced shallot and fresh thyme, let wilt. Add white wine, chicken stock, heavy cream and turkey meat. Cook down. Cool and add salt and pepper.

Fill each square of puff pastry with turkey mixture and one slice of brie. Egg wash edges to stick. Fork down edges. Brush with egg wash and poke with fork for steam holes.

Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.

Orange glaze:
Zest 1/2 orange, juice whole orange, salt and icing sugar. Spread on turnovers.
