Easy Biscuits and Gravy

Ingredients

  • 1/2 to 1 lb. sage-flavored ground pork breakfast sausage
  • 2 Tb. butter
  • 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 4 c. milk or 3 c. milk and 1 c. half-and-half
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 buttermilk biscuits, baked and split

Preparation

Step 1

Brown sausage in a large skillet over medium-high heat; drain. Remove sausage from skillet; set aside on paper towels to drain. Add butter to skillet over medium heat; stir to melt. Add flour, stir continuously until mixture thickens. Reduce heat to medium-low and slowly add milk. Stir constantly until mixture is thick and bubbly. Return sausage to skillet; season with salt and pepper as desired. Serve over biscuits.
