Buttermilk Pancakes

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 stick melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • little vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt.

whisk buttermilk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla, then whisk into the flour mixture until just combined. Ladle 1/4 cup onto a hot buttered skille and cook until bubbly. Flip and cook until golden on the bottom.

*red velvet: make buttermilk pancakes with just one cup of flour, add 1/2 cup cocoa powder with the flour. use 1/2 cup powdered sugar, instead of granulated sugar and omit the butter.

* Pumpkin pancakes: make buttermilk pancakes with just 1 cup buttermilk. Add 1/2 cup pumpkin puree and 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips to the batter
