Cakes: Toni Griffin's Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

• 1 cup water
• 1 1/2 oz chocolate
• 1/2 cup Crisco
• 1 stick butter
• 2 scant cups sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1/2 cup buttermilk
• 1 t soda
• 1 t vanilla
• salt
• Icing
• 6 T sweet milk
• 1 1/2 oz chocolate
• 1 stick margarine
• 1 box 4x sugar
• 1 cup chopped nuts

Preparation

Step 1

In a sauce pan, boil water, chocolate, crisco and butter for 1 minute.
Pour over flour, sugar and mix well.
Add eggs, buttermilk, soda, vanilla and salt.
Bake in greased 10"X13" pan for 30 minutes.
5 minutes before done, melt and boil milk, chocolate, and butter for 1 minute.
Add 1 box 4X sugar plus 1 cup chopped nuts.
Take cake from oven and pour frosting over it.
Cool.
