Ingredients

    pound hot or sweet sausage(I

  • combined),casings removed

  • 1

    tablespoon olve oil

  • 3

    cloves garlic, minced

  • 1

    tablespoon tomato paste

  • 1

    (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes

  • 3

    tablespoons minced fresh basil

  • 1/4

    cup heavy cream

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

  • 2

    (9 0z) pkg Fresh cheese ravioli

  • 1

    cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 475. Bring a big pot of water to a boil. 2. Cook sausage in a 12 inch non-stick skillet over medium-high heat, breaking meat up with wooden spoon, until lightly browned and no longer pink, about 5 minutes. Drain meat and set aside. 3.Make sauce. Add oil, garlic, and tomato paste to skillet and return to medium heat until fragrant, about 1 minute. Stir intomatoes and reserved sausage and cook until slightly thickened, about 8-10 minutes. Remove skillet from heat, cover, and set aside. 4. Cook and drain ravioli. Add 1 tablespoon salt and ravioli to boiling water and cook, stirring often, till tender. Drain ravioli and return to pot. 5. Assemble and bake casserole. Stir sauce into ravioli. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Spread mixture into a 9X13 inch baking dish and sprinkle evenly with mozzarella. Bake until cheese is melted and lightly browned, about 3-5 minutes. Serve.
