Pineapple Upside-Down Cake

Ingredients
- 1 T butter
- 6 slices pineapple
- 1 1/4 c flour
- 1/2 t salt
- 3/4 c sugar
- 1/2 c milk
- 1/3 c brown sugar
- 8 marcino cherries
- 1 1/2 t baking powder
- 1/4 c shortening
- 1 egg
- 1 t vanilla

Preparation
Step 1
Melt butter in pan, sprinkle brown sugar over it. Arrange pineapple & cherries next. Sift flour, powder, salt. Cream shortening and sugar til well blended. Add egg and beat til light and fluffy. Stir in dry ingredients and milk, alternating, until well blended. Stir in vanilla. Pour batter into pan over pineapples. Bake 350 for 40 min. Let cool 5-10 min, then remove. Serve with whipped cream.
