Almond Crescent Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) margarine/butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract OR 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup oats (quick or old-fashioned, uncooked)
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped almonds
  • additional powdered sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat over to 325F

Beat butter, powdered sugar and extract until fluffy

Add flour and salt; mix until well blended

Stir in oats and almonds

Shape tablespoonfuls of dough into crescents

Place on ungreased cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart

Bake 14-17 minutes, until bottoms are light golden brown. Move to wire rach and generously shift additional powdered sugar over warm cookies.
