Scotch Shortbread Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2-1/2 cups flour

Preparation

Step 1

To make dough:

In medium mixing bowl, blend butter and sugar thoroughly. Using fork, work flour into mixture. Chill dough.

To prepare oven: Preheat to 350 degrees.

To bake cookies:
Roll out dough to 1/3-inch thickness.

Cut into diamond shapes.

Place on ungreased baking sheet. Chill for 10 minutes.

Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until edges just start to turn golden.

Cool for 5 minutes before removing from pan.
