JEAN'S WILD RICE CASSEROLE

Very good. Jean would serve it at Thanksgiving dinner.

Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons margarine or butter
  • 2 medium onions thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup uncooked regular rice
  • 1/2 cup uncooked wild rice
  • 1 teaspoon salt (optional)
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 can consume
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 4-ounce can mushrooms and juice
  • 2-3 tablespoons soy sauce

Preparation

Step 1

Separate onion slices into rings; sauté in margarine until limp and light in color.

In a 2-quart casserole, put the onion and add rice, consume, water, mushrooms with juice, salt, pepper and soy sauce to taste.

Bake in 350 degree oven for one hour or until most of the liquid is gone.
