MOCK CHOW MEIN

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/2 small onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 3-4 ribs celery, chopped
  • 1 (10 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 (10 ounce) cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 (8 ounce) can sliced water chestnuts, drained
  • 1 (12 ounce) package chow mein noodles
  • 3-4 cups cooked rice
  • Cooked vegetables

Preparation

Step 1

Brown the beef and drain fat. Add onions, garlic and celery, cook 5-10 minutes until vegetables are softened.

Add the cream of mushroom and cream of chicken soups and milk. Stir together and cook until the mixture boils and is a creamy consistency. Add water chestnuts and heat through.

Pour sauce over the chow mein noodles on plates. Serve with a side of white rice and a serving of cooked vegetables.
