Manchurian Sauce

By

This sauce can be used in many ways: as a marinade, a dip for crepes or vegetables, or as a base for salad dressings, sauces, soups, stir-fried vegetables, cooked grains, and noodles. It will last in the refrigerator for up to 10 days, although the green onions will lose some of their texture and color.

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup vegetable stock

  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/2 tsp wasabi (or 1/2 tsp minced jalapeno pepper)

In a medium-sized bowl, combine all the ingredients and whisk until well blended. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Note: If you are watching your sodium intake, substitute one of the low-sodium varieties of soy sauce, but keep in mind that these may still be quite high in salt.
