Ingredients
- 1 loaf Bridgford Frozen Bread Dough, thawed
- 2 tablespoons melted butter or margarine, divided use
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 medium size apples, peeled and finely chopped
- 1/4 cup rum extract
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- Chopped walnuts, for garnish
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon rum extract
- 1/3 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1/3 cup raisins, soaked in warm water and drained
Preparation
Step 1
On a lightly floured board roll dough out to a 12 x 14 inch rectangle. Brush with 1 tablespoon melted butter. Mix apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, rum extract, walnuts and raisins. Spread over dough. Beginning with 14-inch side roll up dough tightly in jelly-roll fashion. Place on a lightly greased sheet pan. Shape into oval. Cut slashes at 1-inch intervals. Brush with remaining butter. Let rise until doubled in size. Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. If desired, glaze hot ring. Sprinkle chopped walnuts over top.
