Red Cabbage and Apples

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 8 cups red cabbage, shredded
  • 3 cups unpeeled red apples and diced
  • 1 1/2 teasp salt
  • 1/4 teasp pepper
  • 1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/3 cup butter

Melt butter in large dutch oven or large skilllet. Addd onion saute, stir in remaining ingredients and cook until tender ...about 50 mins.
