Granny Davidson's Apple Pie (Annebell)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 1/4 cup Crisco
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Preparation

Step 1

(cut Crisco into the flour very fine)

Add enough Ice water into flour to make a stiff dough. (start with no more than 2 TBS - add more as/if needed)

Roll out dough and line a shallow pie tin, saving the scraps of dough to make strips for top

Add 2 cups sliced "tart" apples to crust - slice 1/2 stick butter and place evenly over apples, add 3/4 of the sugar over the apples, add cininium if using, add strips over the top and sprinkle remaining sugar over strips.

Bake at 350F for 40 min
