Ingredients
- 8 medium apples, peeled and sliced 4 McIntosh / 4 Empire)
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2/3 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- 3 tbl flour
- 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tbl lemon juice
Preparation
Step 1
Heat oven to 425F
PLACE apples in large bowl. Combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice. Toss with apples to coat. Spoon into unbaked pie crust.
Use 3 Pillsbury pie crusts, 2 on the bottom, one on the top
BAKE 40 minutes or until apples are tender and filling in center is bubbly.
Cover edge with foil for the first 30 minutes,to prevent over browning.
Cool to room temperature before serving.
