Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups Pillsbury BEST All-Purpose Flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 4 to 5 tbsp. cold water
- 2 cups half-and-half
- 4 slightly beaten eggs
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp. McCormick Pure Vanilla Extract
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. McCormick Ground Nutmeg
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 450'F. In medium bowl combine flour and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in water, 1 tbsp. at a time, until mixture is moistened. Form dough into a ball. On lightly floured surface roll dough into a 12-inch circle. Transfer to a 9-inch pie plate. Trim and crimp pastry. Line pastry with a double thickness of foil.
Bake for 8 min. Remove foil; bake 5 min. more. Remove from oven. Reduce oven temperature to 350'F.
In medium bowl stir together half-and-half, eggs, sugar, vanilla, salt, and nutmeg. Pour into baked pie crust. Cover edge of pie with foil. Bake for 25 min. Uncover; bake 25 min. more.
