Nut Rolls (the original recipe)

This is the recipe that Grandma always used - before Aunt Leona introduced us to the recipe that has sour cream!

Ingredients
- 6 cups flour
- 1 lb. butter or margarine
- 2 tbsp. sugar
- 6 eggs; beaten
- 1/2 pint sweet cream
- 1/2 cube of fresh yeast
- 1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
Step 1
Sift flour into a large bowl and cut in shortening.
Dissolve yeast in little milk and salt. Add beaten egg mixture to flour, then add yeast mixture.
Mix dough in the evening and store in refrigerator.
In the morning take out enough dough to make one roll.
Roll out and spread with nut mixture and light raisins.
Roll and place on cookie sheet.
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes. or until nicely browned at 350 degrees
