Preparation

Step 1

1. In large bowl, combin 2 1/4 cup flour & yeast. In saucepan, heat & stir milk, 1/3 cup butter, 1/3 cup sugar, & 1/2 tsp salt to 120 - 130 degrees or until butter is almost melted.
2. Add to flour mixture & add eggs. Beat on low speed for 30 seconds, scraping bowl. Beat on high speed for 3 minutes. Stir in as much flour as possible.
3. On lightly floured surface, knead in enough of the remaining flour to make a moderately soft dough that is smooth & elastic (3 - 5 minutes). Shape into a ball and place in greased bowl. Turn once & cover. Place in warm area & let rise until double in size (1 hour).
4. Punch down dough. Turn on lightly floured surface & divide in half. Cover & let rest 10 minutes. Lightly grease 2 - 9x1 /2" round baking pans. Roll each ball of dough into 12 x 8" rectangles. Brush with melted butter. Combine 2/3 cup sugar & cinnamon & sprinkle over rectangles. Start from long side, roll each rectangle into a spiral. Seal seams. Cut each spiral into 12 slices. Place slices, cut side down in pans.
5. Cover dough loosely with plastic wrap, leaving room for rolls to rise. Chill rolls for at least 4 - 24 hours. Uncover & let stand for 30 minutes.
6. Preheat over to 375 degrees. Break surface bubbles with a greased toothpick. Bake for 20 minutes or until light brown. To prevent over browning cover rolls with aluminum foil for last 5 - 10 minutes of baking. Remove from oven. Cool on 1 minute. Carefully invert onto wire rack. Cool slightly & invert again onto a platter.
7. Prepare glaze by mixing 1 1/4 cup powdered sugar, 1 tsp corn syrup, & 1/2 tsp vanilla. Stir in enough half-n-half or cream to make a drizzling consistency.
8. Drizzle over rolls & serve warm.
