Ingredients
- 2 T butter
- 4 c halved and thinly sliced sweet onions about 1 1/2
- 2 t sugar
- 2 t thyme
- 1 1/2 pd stew beef
- 1 c beef broth
- 1 pkg onion gravy mix
- 2 c 1 inch pieces diagonally cut carrots
- 1 c 1 inch pieces diagonally cut parsnips
- 1/2 c frozen sweet peas
Preparation
Step 1
in a 10 inch skillet melt butter over med low. Cook onions and sugar in butter 30-35 mins stirring frequently until onions are deep golden brown-stir in thyme and stew meat...place in slow cooker
in medium bowl mix broth and gravy mix-pour over meat in slow cooker
top w carrots and parsnips..cover and cook on low 8-9 hours
stir in peas..cover and cook 10-15 mins longer
