Ingredients
- 3 c broccoli florets
- 4 c chicken broth
- 1 c half and half
- 1/2 c flour
- 8 slices Kraft sharp cheddar singles
- 1/2 c shredded carrot
- 1/3 c diced white onion
- pinch pepper
Preparation
Step 1
Steam broccoli in steamer basket in covered saucepan over boiling water for 6 minutes. Remove broccoli to board, cool, then dice into pieces about the size of peas.
Pour chicken broth into large saucepan with half and half. Whisk in flour then add remaining ingredients including broccoli. Turn heat to medium and cook, stirring often, until mixture begins to bubble. Reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes, or until carrots are tender and soup is thick.
