Best Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

  • 4 egg yolks
  • 2 C. sugar
  • 3/4 C. butter
  • 2 C flour
  • 1 C milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 sq. melted chocolate OR
  • 6 Tblsp. cocoa and 2 Tblsp. butter
  • 2 C. nuts (opt)

Preparation

Step 1

Beat 4 egg yolks until thick and lemon colored

Cream sugar and butter together. Add egg yolk mixture. Put the salt in with the flour. If using cocoa, also add the cocoa in with the flour. Alternately add the flour and milk until all in. Add the vanilla.

Beat the 4 egg whites and fold them into chocolate mixture.

Bake at 350 for 35 - 40 min.

Cool then frost with chocolate butter cream frosting.
