Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup (3 oz.) shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla
  • 3/4 cup quick-cooking rolled oats
  • Granulated sugar

Step 1

In mixing bowl, stir together first 6 ingredients. Add shortening, egg, and vanilla; beat well. Stir in oats. Form into small balls. Dip tops in additional granulated sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes.
