VICKY APPLIN’S APPLE CRISP

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup quick oats
  • 2/3 cup butter or margarine (1/2 of each is recommended)
  • 2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 12 cups sliced McIntosh apples
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons water

Preparation

Step 1

Combine sugar, flour, oats, butter, cinnamon and mix well. Peel and place apples in pan. Sprinkle with water and lemon juice.

Spread sugar mixture over apples. Bake in 375 degree oven for 40-45 minutes. If using an 8-1/2 x 11” pan, bake for one hour.

Serve warm with ice cream or ice milk.
