Ingredients
- 1/2 cup shortenting
- 3/4 cup water
- 2 eggs room temp
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tbsp chili powder or dried chipotle powder
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 4 oz unsweetened baking chocolate, melted
Preparation
Step 1
1 preheat oven to 350
2. cream sugar and shortening with mixer until fluffy 3/5 min
3. add the eggs and v anilla
4. add melted chocolate
5. whisk the flour, chili powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt together
6. combine the milk and water
7. alternating flour mixture and milk, add them to the batter starting and ending with the flour
8. pour 2/3 full in tins
9 bake for 20-25 min using toothpick method
10 cook for 5 min before transfer to rack
ganache
1/2 cup heavy cream
8 0z good semi sweet chocolate chips
to make ganache, place the cream and chips in the top of double boiler and place on med heat with water under the tooooop pan, or use tem safe bowl and put bowl in a saucepan with 2 inch water in the bottom of it. stir until the chips are melted and the cream and the chips are combined, dep the top of each cupcake in the ganache, do not refridgerate, because the chocolate will disoclor
