"JEWISH" BREAD

I am not sure why mom called this "Jewish" bread, but it is delicious. I don't use that name when I bring it somewhere though. A great taste of chocolate and cinnamon.

Variations of small individual breads, or muffins. Very old family recipe.

Ingredients

  • CREAM TOGETHER:
  • 1-1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup Crisco
  • Add in four eggs one at a time.
  • SIFT:
  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • Alternate with 1-cup milk.
  • FILLING:
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa
  • 1-teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup white sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Pour half of batter in pan.

Place cocoa/cinnamon mixture on top.

Then pour other half of batter at the top.

Dot with butter.

Bake in 350-degree oven for 45 minutes to an hour.
