MODIFIED VANILLA CREAM PIE 0 Picture

Ingredients

  • 1/2 C sugar
  • 1/4 C flour
  • 1 T cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 C milk
  • 1 whole egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 egg white, slightly beaten
  • 1 T oleo
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 baked 8-inch pie shell

Preparation

Step 1

Combine sugar, flour, cornstarch and salt in top of double boiler. Gradually blend in milk, then add eggs and oleo.

Place over rapidly boiling water so pan is touching water. Cook, stirring constantly, until thick and smooth, about 7 minutes, remove from heat. Add vanilla. stir until smoorh and blended.

Pour hot filling into pie shell. Chill several hours before serving.

Serves 6 to 8.
