Old Fashioned Oatmeal Apple Cookies

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup Butter Flavor Crisco
- 1-1/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1-1/2 t vanilla
- 3 cups quick-cooking oats
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1-1/4 t cinnamon
- 1/4 t nutmeg
- 1/2 t baking soda
- 1/2 t salt
- 1 cup peeled, diced apples
- 3/4 cup raisins (optional)
- 3/4 cup broken walnut pieces (optional)

Step 1
1. Heat oven to 375. Grease baking sheets with Butter Flavor Crisco.
2. Cream butter flavor crisco, brown sugar, egg, milk, and vanilla at medium speed of electric mixer for 1-1/2 minutes.
3. Combine flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda and salt. Beat into creamed mixture at low speed until well blended, or by hand with a large spoon.
4. Stir in fruit and nuts.
5. Stir in oats.
6. Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough on greased baking sheet. Bake at 375 for 13 minutes. Cool 2 minutes on baking sheet. Remove to cooling rack.
